PeterStar Announces Acquisition of SZKTI Alternative Carrier
OREANDA-NEWS. June 02, 2010. ZAO PeterStar – a leader of the market of telecommunication services in the Northwest Region, being part of the Synterra group of Companies – has announced acquisition of the largest alternative carrier of the Murmansk Oblast – OAO North-West Company of Telecommunications and Information Technology (SZKTI), reported the press-centre of PeterStar.
In April 2010 PeterStar purchased 98.51% of the asset’s shares. In the course of the deal PeterStar purchased 85.97% voting shares from Nasver Trade Limited and 12.54% voting shares from natural persons – the carriers’ shareholders. This deal is financed from the equity of the Synterra Group.
ОАО SZKTI is the largest alternative carrier of the Murmansk Oblast, established in 1994 and possessing the infrastructure that allows provision of telecommunication services in practically all towns of the Murmansk Oblast. The company provides a full range of telecom services for corporate and private customers. In the region the carrier possesses its own optic-fiber network 300 km in total length, as well as a considerable local telephone numbering resource of 16,400 numbers. SZKTI’s client base includes about 12 thousand clients and approximately 8 thousand home users of broadband Internet access. Based on the results of 2009, the company’s revenue amounted to RUR200m, i.e. increased 4% during the year. The basic income items within the revenue structure of the company are their receipts from telecom carriers and corporate customers.
