Ukrainian Banks Need Credit Information Bureau
OREANDA-NEWS. June 01, 2010. The credit information bureau is a necessary and very important link of the financial sector. Vice Prime Minister Serhiy Tigipko emphasized this at a meeting of the governmental committee for economic policy.
According to him, the governmental committee passed a bill regarding amendments to some Laws of Ukraine pertaining to providing bureau with credit histories from the list of the State register of natural persons-payers of taxes and other compulsory payments. According to the draft, the credit information bureau will be able to receive from the Tax Administration data about adequacy of identification numbers given to natural persons in order to prevent fraud in the financial system concerned forged documents.
"Development of civilized economy on the European model requires exactly such steps. Banks will receive more adequate data about borrowers, risks that influence interest rate level will be reduced", summed up Serhiy Tigipko.
