Aeroexpress Introduces New Frequent Timetable for 2010-2011
OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2010. Starting from May 30 2010 Aeroexpress together with Moscow Railway (a branch of OJSC Russian Railways) will introduce a new frequent timetable to remain in effect through to July 2011 for all of its routes.
For the convenience of its passengers Aeroexpress will increase the frequency of electric trains in peak hours by introducing, all in all, 34 more trains a day.
According to the new timetable, 10 Aeroexpresses will be added on the Paveletsky Railway Station –
The new timetable is the next step of Aeroexpress to improve the quality of passenger service. On average 26 thousand people (of which 23 thousand are airport passengers) use the company services every day. Year by year Aeroexpress is becoming a more demanded mode of transport to get to/from the airports and in anticipation of summer holidays denser passenger traffic is expected with the company forecasting a growth of 25%.
Currently, Aeroexpress is carrying out work to upgrade the rolling stock on the Paveletsky Railway Station –
Domodedovo implemented a new intermodal connections technology – the Domodedovo Air Rail Service (DARS). This enables passengers to check-in at Paveletsky Railway Station 24 hours prior to departure and travel 40 minutes to DME with a one single boarding pass.
Approximately 25% of DME passengers benefit from services provided by the terminal at Paveletsky Station and travel by Aeroexpress. This value which is the highest in the world speaks well for popularity of airport rapid transport system among passengers.
