OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2010. Timophey Nizhegorodtsev, the Head of the Department for Control over Social Sphere and Commerce, of the Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia), took part in the 16th International Russian Pharmaceutical Forum in St Petersburg, where he made a presentation "Antimonopoly Regulation of Pharmaceuticals Market - the Main Problems and Objectives", reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

In his presentation Timophey Nizhegorodtsev outlined the existing problems of developing competition in the Russian pharmaceuticals market, analyzed the impact of the government regulation upon advancement of completion and told about the prospects of transfrontier competition on the pharmaceutical market in the context of building-up Common Economic Space of the Customs Union. Also the Head of a FAS Russia's Department called upon market participants to pout join efforts to prevent the risks of restricting competition associated with coming into force on 1st September 2010 the Federal Law "On Circulation of Medicines".

This year the main subjects at the Forum included: statutory regulation of the pharmaceuticals market; pricing policy, compensation mechanisms and market entry; strategic planning, commercial strategies and business-models of the leading companies; distribution: income, challenges and opportunities for business development; retail - possible scenarios of development; strategies for improving agent efficiency; consumer products for human health and over-the-counter medicines; effective marketing strategies.

Other presentations at the Forum were given by representatives of the federal executive bodies, experts and legal practitioners, top executives of the leading and most dynamically developing Russian and foreign manufacturers, distributors, retail chains, etc.
