OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2010. TNK-BP finished amongst the leaders in the 1st ranking of business partners of higher education in Russia on 5 nominations. An awards ceremony for the winners of the ranking was held in the Intellectual Centre – Main Library of the Lomonosov Moscow State University, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The ranking was based on the findings of the Business and Education – 2009 Monitoring Program, which was carried out on the initiative of the Russian Union of Rectors. 400 leading Russian and international companies and 820 higher education establishments were invited to participate in the program; approximately 100 companies and over 200 universities and colleges provided data on collaboration on joint studies and R&D, support for gifted students and young lecturers, and vocational adaptation of students.

TNK-BP was cited in 5 nominations: Biggest Investor in Higher Education, Biggest Contribution to Science and Innovation, Biggest Contribution to Support of Students and Young Lecturers, Biggest Youth Employer, and the un-ranked Best Practice in Professional Adaptation of Higher Education Students. TNK-BP was the only private company in Russia to achieve such results.

The nomination awards testify to the fact that TNK-BP is confidently maintaining its status as a leader in overall funding in all areas of collaboration with higher education and is one of the biggest youth employers. TNK-BP will continue to work on large-scale systemic programs of vocational adaptation for young specialists.

The rankings of Russian higher education’s business partners are based on a comparison of quantitative and qualitative metrics. The former include spending on collaboration programs with higher education institutions and the number of students recruited by the company in 2009. The latter include the relationship between schools, higher education institutions and the business, the degree of involvement in training students and the materiality of the results for the company and for the job market as a whole.
