OREANDA-NEWS. May 31, 2010. The Center for Combating Economic Crimes and Corruption (CCECC) together with the General State Tax Inspection (GSTI) started unplanned checks of pharmaceutical wholesale warehouses all over the country.

The operation has started after the meeting, held in the Center, during which the participants have adopted the action plan to normalize situation at the pharmaceutical market. Eight mobile teams, comprising officers and representatives of CCECC and GSTI, will check warehouses of the largest pharmaceutical operators of the country to establish the correctness of pricing and tax payments by these economic agents.

In this regard, it should be noted that a working meeting, during which the parties have reviewed the situation at pharmaceutical market, was held at the Ministry of Economy. Thus, the participants discussed possibility of revising the legal framework in this area, and increasing the effectiveness of institutional acts responsible for monitoring pricing of drugs.

It can be reminded that on May 25, during the meeting devoted to the pricing of drugs, the Prime Minister Vladimir Filat demanded to modify the regulations governing the prices of medicines and submit them for the approval of the Government.
