OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2010. Belarus’ woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies’ output last year increased 7.2% on the year in January-March 2009 to 954.4 billion Belarusian rubles (Br), an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Commercial timber procurement rose 2.1% to 583,000 solid cubic meters, wood veneer output rose 17.8% to 41,600 cubic meters, and sawn lumber production remained unchanged at 222,500 cubic meters.

Fiberboard output decreased 1.5% year-on-year to 9.6 million equivalent square meters, and chip wood board production went down 2.2% to 81,400 equivalent cubic meters.

Furniture output increased 4.9% to 359.8 billion rubles in monetary terms.

Inventories of woodworking, paper and pulp-making companies amounted to 305.3 billion rubles on April 1, 2010.
