OREANDA-NEWS. May 27, 2010. The agreement was signed during a working visit of the General Secretary of BACEE Istvan Lengyel to Chisinau. As it was informed by the President of Association of Banks of Moldova Dumitru Ursu, the agreement provides international cooperation of both sides, the ability to attract credit lines, the possibility of advanced training in Moldova and Budapest, as well as cooperation in various fields of mutual interest, providing information support for the establishment of cooperation between the banks-members of Association, organization of consultations, round tables and conferences, etc. Dumitru Ursu stressed that Moldova badly needs BACEE experience in overcoming global financial crisis and training.

In his turn, Istvan Lengyel informed that it is planned to organize visits of the heads of Moldovan banks to the Central Europe to study the experience in such fields as debt restructuring, and to hold joint seminars in different directions. According to him, the main goal of cooperation of Associations is the provision of credit lines to Moldovan banks by the Western counterparts.

During the meeting, the members of Association of Banks of Moldova and Istvan Lengyel have discussed the activities of Association of banks of Moldova and BACEE, current situation and trends in the banking sector of Moldova and Central and Eastern Europe, the international financial crisis and its impact on the banking sector, as well as integration of the banking sector of Moldova in the financial market of Europe.
