OREANDA-NEWS. May 26, 2010. Ukrainian PM Mykola Azarov and his Belarusian counterpart Sergei Sidorsky instructed their First Deputies to harmonize tariffs on the transportation of Venezuelan oil, purchased by Belarus, via Ukraine. Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said this following the meeting of the CIS heads of government.

"It is evident that Belarusian side would like tariffs to be as low as possible and Ukraine, on the contrary, wants our railway being profitable. We have agreed with the Prime Minister that our First Deputy Prime Ministers on these issues Vladimir Semashko from Belarusian side and Andriy Klyuyev from Ukrainian side will comprehensively examine this issue and come to a compromise", underlined Mykola Azarov.

In addition, the PM said that he held a number of meetings with colleagues from other CIS countries. The issues of the volumes of Kazakh oil pumping via Ukraine as well as nuclear cooperation were particularly discussed at the meeting with Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Karim K. Massimov. The Head of Ukrainian Government emphasized the great importance for Ukraine to explore its own uranium ore fields.

Mykola Azarov accepted the invitation of Karim K. Massimov to visit the Republic of Kazakhstan and added that during the forthcoming visit such issues as trade and economic cooperation, Kazakh oil pumping and transit via Ukraine will be on the agenda.

In addition, the PM held a meeting with Prime Minister of Moldova Vladimir Filat.
