OREANDA-NEWS. May 24, 2010. The development of transport infrastructure, including in Crimea is one of the priorities of the Government - emphasized the First Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Andriy Klyuyev after reviewing the construction of bypass roads Simferopol - Evpatoria - Myrne - Dubky during his working visit to the Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

Andriy Klyuyev underlined the importance of rapid construction of ring road Simferopol - Evpatoria – Myrne - Dubky, "because Simferopol stifles from transport, the carriageway destruction has place, accidents are increased because of the traffic jams”. According to him, Simferopol is a large transport interchange, where the main highways of Crimea are connected; in particular, it is the transit traffic flow in western direction (Sevastopol, Saki and Mykolaivka).

First Vice Prime Minister recalled that the works on construction of bypass road around Simferopol to western direction has been started in 2007 by the Government of Viktor Yanukovych, having noted that since the 1980's, when only 5 kilometres were constructed on the section Myrne – Dubky, nothing was done during many years.

Also, Andriy Klyuyev said that more than a half of Crimean highways require replacement and reconstruction, in addition there are 347 bridges, built mostly according to outdated technical parameters. According to him, problem of landslides on the roads in mountainous areas needs to be solved immediately. "So, we have a lot of work to do” - he said.

However, as noted the First Vice Prime Minister, despite of the complexity of the budgetary financing this year it is necessary to continue the construction of roads. "We must construct, construct, and construct again – only in that way we'll run the economic growth", - he said.

Andrei Klyuyev said that a month ago he had given orders to the local Crimean authorities to repair peninsula roads till the holiday season, and put in order the work of the railway station in Simferopol, “so that Crimea could adequately accept people coming to take rest”. According to First Vice Prime Minister, the Government also plans to expand railway interchange of Crimean capital. "Moreover, we need to increase the capacity of the railway in Kherson – Dzhankoy direction" - he added.
