OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2010. It was the first time in the history of OAO SUEK that BUCYRUS-495HD excavator No. 1 loaded over 1 mln cu. m of overburden into off-road trucks at the Tugnuy surface mine affiliated to OAO SUEK-Krasnoyarsk. This was achieved due to high-level process-oriented arrangement of the excavator's operation, and decrease of downtime. Loading dump trucks followed the advanced twin-access road pattern, which helped increase the daily productivity of the excavator to 48,500 cubic metres.

The excavator's operator E. Yu. Prokhorov loaded as many as 300,000 cu. m of overburden, which is another unprecedented achievement. BUCYRUS-495HD No. 1 loads the overburden into 220-tonne Belaz dump trucks, make 75306.

The excavator arrived at the surface mine in 2010 under the investment project aimed at reequipping OAO SUEK facilities and has become the most powerful shovel across SUEK enterprises: its bucket capacity is 41 cu.m, while the Company's surface mines largely operate 10 cu.m bucket excavators.
