Moldova and Romania Signed Agreement in Field of Public Finance
OREANDA-NEWS. May 21, 2010. According to the Romanian media, the agreement signed by the Minister of Finance of Moldova Veaceslav Negruta and his Romanian counterpart Sebastian Vladescu, provides the development and implementation of joint annual program in such areas as budget administration, fiscal policies and laws, customs policy and legislation, administration of taxes and fees, financial autonomy of local public authorities, internal public finance control and public procurements.
Cooperation in these areas will include jointly organized training programs, exchange of documentation, legislative materials and other data in the field of public finance, exchange of experience through meetings, seminars, conferences and workshops. The agreement will be implemented on the basis of the annual program of cooperation, defined by the two ministries, which provides specific measures in each area of cooperation.
Veaceslav Negruta said that Moldova has been waiting for signing this agreement for a long time and expressed hope for "good cooperation in the field of public finance”. In his turn, Sebastian Vladescu noted that the parties have to hold further technical discussions, in particular in the area of tax evasion. It should be noted that the Minister of Finance Veaceslav Negruta was on a working visit to Bucharest on May 18-29.
