OREANDA-NEWS. May 18, 2010. Ipoteka-bank joint-stock commercial mortgage bank is expanding gradually the system of plastic cards in the national currency. The bank served 586,500 plastic cards, 4,937 units of terminal equipment, 12 ATMs and 18 info kiosks as of 1 April 2010.

The bank is carrying out its operations in line with the Resolution of the President of Uzbekistan "On additional measures to develop the system of cashless settlements on the basis of plastic cards" dated 3 August 2006 and the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers "On measures to further develop the system of settlements on the basis of plastic cards" dated 24 September 2009.

In order to expand operations on plastic cards, Ipoteka-bank issued additional 16,000 plastic cards in the first quarter of 2010. The amount of transactions with plastic cards made up 195.8 billion soums in January-March 2010, including cashless payments reaching 101.2 billion soums, which is 2.9 times more year-on-year.

It should be noted that the major volume of cashless payments was made through trading terminals and terminals in savings cash offices of the bank for the payment of municipal services.

The balance of money resources on plastic cards comprised 51.7 billion soums as of 1 April 2010. This indicator increased by 184% as compared with the same period of 2009.
