OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2010. Abakan TPP (branch of JSC “Yeniseyskaya TGC (TGC-13)” cut off the heat in centralized system of heating of the capital of Khakassia. Pursuant to the Regulation of Chief Magistrate of Abakan Nicolay Bulakin which was issued the last week, the heating season in the city is completed. Abakan TPP is transferring to the summer regime of work.

Heat supply is accomplished; the powermen will begin the next stage of preparation to the following heating season. One of the necessary arrangements of the preparation period is holding of hydraulic-pressure tests of the pipelines of the major heat supply system.

The tests are planned to be held since the 11th to 24th of May. Due to this consumers will be cut off heat water supply.

The hydraulic-pressure tests (water supply in the magistral and intra-quarterly grids under overpressure) – is one of the most important technological procedures aimed at reliability increasing of the heat supply system. The heat grids are tested for ruggedness and solidity. The test help to detect faults caused by corrosion and fatigue of metal, check quality of joint welds, define the most worn areas of heating mains which need an urgent repair.

Within the stated terms, since the 11th to the 24th of May the tests by determining of the actual heat losses through the pipeline sheathing will be also made. Such tests must be held each 5 years pursuant to the requirements of Russian Technical Supervisory Authority.

Depending on the results of the coming tests, the plan of holding of repair works at the major pipeline of Abakan TPP will be adjusted. It will make it possible to increase significantly reliability of heat supply of the urban consumers.

The connection of the consumers to the heat water supply will be made within the 23d till the 24th of May. The directorate of Abakan TPP warns: to avoid emergencies and accidents an unauthorized switching on the hot water supply at heating mains and elevator assemblies is expressly prohibited.
