OREANDA-NEWS. May 17, 2010. The Russian Bank for Development has changed credit products for the counter-party banks: now under the SME Lending Support Program the funds to SMEs can be provided both in a form of a credit and in a form of a credit line with a lending ceiling for all credit products for the counter-party banks, reported the press-centre of RBD.

The application of the mechanism of a credit line with a lending ceiling will build up SMEs’ capabilities in terms of cash management. The prime advantage of the credit line for SME is its flexibility: thus, for example an SME may take and repay tranches within an opened credit line in a most convenient mode. It is particularly important for long-term lending to SMEs involved in manufacturing.

“We hope that the changes will boost attractiveness of the RBD’s credit resources both for the counter-party banks and for SMEs. In its turn this novelty will explicitly affect the growth rate of participants of the Program and its geographical expansion”, pointed out Olesia Teploukhova, Director of SME Financing Department of RBD.
