Danske Bankas Upgraded Payment Card System
OREANDA-NEWS. May 14, 2010. In April the Forbis Company, a developer of banking information systems, and the Danske Bankas (Lithuania) have successfully completed a project on upgrading the bank’s payment card infrastructure. In the Danske Bankas there was implemented a new FORPOST*Cards On-line subsystem, which enables input of all the information on the operations performed by customers’ cards into the system in the real time mode, reported the press-centre of Danske Bankas.
“We have taken one more important step towards improvement of the quality of the Danske Bankas services,” stated a business development service director of the Danske Bankas Norbertas Zioba. “With the help of this new subsystem, solving of many issues, which arise to our customers while using cards both abroad and in Lithuania, will be much more efficient.”
The Forbis specialists adapted a new FORPOST*Cards On-line subsystem to the Lithuanian IT standards and successfully implemented it in the Danske Bankas. The new system uses an interface which conforms to the international ISO8583:93 standard and is designed to connect the FORPOST banking information system of the Danske Bankas with the “First Data Lietuva” Lithuanian payment card processing centre in the real time mode. Due to integration of the systems, the final point of card operation authorisation is moved from the processing centre to the banking system. The card operation is confirmed after verification of the customer’s card and account data. It enables the bank to optimise IS resources, to reduce the risk of errors, and to provide a wider range of payment card services.
“Positive changes in the card system will be soon felt by all the Danske Bankas card holders,” emphasised CEO of the Forbis Company Andrej Zujev. “Not every bank may take advantage in the possibility to obtain the information on operations performed by payment cards all over the world in the real time mode. We are happy that our partner Danske Bankas today may compare well with the greatest leaders in terms of the quality of the provided services.”
