OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2010. For January-March 2010 Commercial Port of Vladivostok handled 1.774 m tonnes: export - 1.172 m tonnes, import - 256,900 tonnes, cabotage - 344,600 tonnes. Container trade figures in Q1 2010 reached 68,258 TEU: export - 25,819 TEU, import - 18,407 TEU, cabotage - 24,032 TEU.

"In Q1 cargo handling volumes were up 60% compared to the same period of last year. The major growth was seen in export sector (mainly coke and metal products), representing a boost of 54% in January-March. The port experienced a growth of 52% in container volumes. We noted improvement in handling import cars and heavy-duty vehicles (up 40%)", commented operations director, Sergey Lopunov.
