OREANDA-NEWS. May 12, 2010. City authorities are to allocate more than 4 billion roubles (~USD 138 million) extra to finance the routine repairs of Moscow’s roads in 2010.

“The decision to allocate additional 4.25 billion roubles has been made at a session of the interim committee for financial monitoring of industrial and construction companies of Moscow with the aim of improving the [local] road facilities,” a source from City Hall said.

According to the official, the money will be distributed among the districts of Moscow.

“Roughly 6.5 million square metres of the [Moscow] roads will undergo repairs [in 2010],” the source added.
