OREANDA-NEWS. May 11, 2010. In the 1st quarter of 2007 in comparison with the similar period of 2006 the number of telephone installations has increased by 12.7%. According to the results of 2006 the planned figures on this indicator have been exceeded by 20%, reported the press-centre of Kazakhtelecom.

At the same time the considerable increase was achieved in the 4th quarter of 2006 – increase of installations in comparison with the similar period of 2005 made up 11 019 telephone sets or approximately 18%. More detailed information was provided to us by the JSC Kazakhtelecom’s President Mr. Askar Zhumagaliyev.

According to him, JSC Kazakhtelecom executes an active work, which will promote the development of Kazakhstan’s telecommunication market. To achieve this aim the Company put definite tasks – maximal satisfaction of population’s demand for telephonization, increase of servicing quality, broadening of the service range. These tasks are quite achievable. In the 1st quarter of this year we planned to install 60 011 telephones, but in fact we have installed 63 522 units. In comparison with the similar period of 2006 number of telephone installations has increased by 7 160 or by 12.7%.

In general according to the results of the last year the plan on telephone installations has been exceeded by 20%. During 2006 the Company has planned to install 208 813 telephones and in fact 250 280 telephones have been installed, including 188 056 installations in the urban area and 62 224 installations in the rural area. In comparison with the results of 2005 the growth of telephone installations made up 17 480 units.

Askar Zhumagaliyev also informed that at present JSC Kazakhtelecom implements the system of “faultless servicing”, which in perspective shall ensure maximal fulfillment of applications for telephone installation, including applications received during last years. For satisfaction of the current demand for installation of telephones, the Company also plans, in addition to the usage of traditional line and cable facilities, to apply wireless access technology WLL (Wireless Local Loop).

Last year the telephone installations to the users standing in the waiting list equaled 73 505 telephones, including 56 933 telephones on the urban network and 16 572 telephones on the rural network. In general number of applications for telephone installation in the beginning of 2006 made up 277 336.

In the reporting period the highest rates of installations are observed in the Regional Telecommunications Administration (RTA) of West-Kazakhstani oblast, i.e. by 66.2% more than in the similar period of 2005, in RTA of Karagandinskaya oblast - by 47.7% and in RTA of Kyzylordinskaya oblast - by 43.4 %. According to the Company’s data, as of January 01, 2006 the longest waiting list for installation of telephones is registered in RTA of East-Kazakhstani oblast - 49 929, in RTA of Almatinskaya oblast - 34 531, in RTA of Karagandinskaya oblast - 24 459.

At the same time East-Kazakhstani branch of the Company has installed the biggest number of telephones - 27 279. As for this indicator, the Local Telecommunications Center Almatytelecom ranks second with с 27 035 installations and RTA of Karagandinskaya oblast ranks third with 23 139 installations.
