Overstocks were at 71.2% of the average monthly production volume as of April 1, 2010, down from 76.3% on March 1, 2010 and 91.8% on April 1, 2009.
Inventories of engineering and metalworking companies decreased 3.7% on the month in March to 2.852 trillion rubles, of light industry companies 3.2% to 553 billion rubles, and of fuel companies remained unchanged at 38 billion rubles.
Ferrous metal companies reported a 12.9% decrease in stocks to 96 billion rubles; chemical and petrochemical companies’ inventories rose 3.9% to 584 billion rubles, inventories of woodworking and paper industry companies went up 6.3% to 305 billion rubles.
Inventories of construction materials companies went up 4.5% in March to 305 billion rubles, inventories of food-making companies increased 2.5% to 1.36 trillion rubles.
In March, inventories of televisions rose 11.6% to 20,800 units, of refrigerators rose 31.7% to 167,100 units, of electric bulbs increased 18.9% to 6.5 million units, of electric ovens doubled to 2,600 units, and of tractors remained unchanged at 4,400 units.
Inventories of trucks went down 5% to 3,440 units, of buses fell 9.1% to 260 units, of bicycles dropped 10.1% to 5,100 units, and of elevators fell 12.7% to 289 units.
