OREANDA-NEWS. May 06, 2010. The Federal Service for Consumer Rights and Human Well-Being held a second session of the Consumer Rights Advisory Council of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy (the Council), reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.

The session was joined by representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, FAS Russia, the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the Russian Federation, the International Confederation of Consumer Societies, as well as government agencies and non-government organizations from the CIS member-states - the Azerbaijan Republic, the Armenia Republic, the Belarus Republic, the Kazakhstan Republic, the Moldova Republic and Russian Federation and the Tajikistan Republic.

The Council discussed the issues of implementing the policy for protecting consumer rights in the CIS states, priority areas of the work of government agencies and non-government consumer organizations, including the questions related to consumer rights n the market of financial services.

CIS representatives supported the initiative to grant the Consumer Rights Advisory Council the status of an independent body of sectoral cooperation between the CIS member-states. The issue will be discussed at the 31st session of the Interstate Council on Antimonopoly Policy on 9-10 June 2010 in Suzdal, Russia.
