Russian and Canadian Arctic Monitoring Systems Can Become Beneficial
OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2010. Russian Federal Space Agency proposes to develop general standards for Arctic space monitoring systems to be designed by Russia and Canada, Roscosmos Deputy Head Anatoly Shilov said.
Shilov thinks it would be useful to offer Canada to unite the efforts of the two countries. The situation is similar to the one with global navigation system GLONASS and GPS- signals acquired from both systems provide better coverage. The user shall not see the difference between the components of the united Arctic monitoring system, thus there must be a joint standard developed.
