Azerbaijan’s Power Generation Drops to 1.5 bn kWh in April
OREANDA-NEWS. May 05, 2010. Azerbaijani national energy producer Azerenerji OJSC reduced electricity generation in April.
Over four months of 2010 Azerenerji system generated 36.6% of last year’s overall power generation.
Azerenerji’s press service citing the Central Dispatcher Control Office reports that 1.5 bnkWh of electricity was generated in Apri versus 1.8 bn kWh of electricity was generated this March, 1.7 bn kWh in February and 1.9 bn kWh in January of 2010, and 1.8 bn kWh in December 2009.
In April, 1.1 bn kWh of electricity was generated by thermal power stations (TPSs) and 400 million kWh by hydroelectric power stations (HEPSs). A month before TPSs produced 1.4 bn kWh of electricity and HEPSs - 400 million kWh.
In January to April, 2010, the country generated 6.8 bn kWh, including 5.5 bn kWh by TPSs and 1.3 bn by HEPSs.
In 2009, power generation reached 18.6 bn kWh (16.3 bn kWh by the TPSs and 2.3 bn kWh by the HEPSs) and in 2008 - 21.2 bn kWh (19 bn by TPSs and 2.2 bn kWh by HEPSs).
