Nakhodka Сity Prepares for 65th Anniversary of Victory in WWII
OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2010. Deputy Head of Nakhodka city district Oleg SERGANOV held a meeting of the city committee "Victory". Its participants told about preparation for events dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The city committee "Victory" was created on the initiative of Nakhodka city administration for preparation of festive events in connection with celebration of the 65th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
At the regular meeting of the committee, deputy Head of Nakhodka city district Oleg SERGANOV heard the report about preparation for the anniversary. According to the chief of the city administration’s Department of Culture Tatiana OLSHEVSKAYA, festive events in the memory of war heroes have been held in our city since the beginning of this year, but most events are planned to be held in April and May. Employees of the Museum and Exhibition Center, local libraries and the Houses of Culture prepare festive programs. The main celebrations will take place on May, 9. Meetings on the occasion of the Great Victory Day will be held near the monuments to fallen soldiers in Nakhodka, Vrangel, Livadia, Yuzhno-Morskoy and Anna.
At the meeting, Oleg SERGANOV also discussed the subject of the target financial aid to war veterans. According to the chief of the Division of Social Protection of the Population in Nakhodka Dmitry MALYAVIN, 310 war veterans were given 10 thousands rubles each one. Widows of soldiers, who died in the war, received 8 thousand rubles each one. This financial aid is stipulated by the regional target program "Social support of veterans of the Great Patriotic War and members of their families".
