OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2010. Azerbaijan-Stavropol Business Forum was held within the framework of the official visit of Stavropol’s Governor Mr. Valeriy Gayevskiy to Azerbaijan. The delegation headed by the governor was comprised of Stavropol officials, as well as about 80 entrepreneurs from industry and energy, agriculture, toursim, construction, education and other sectors.

Azerbaijani side was represented by 130 businessmen from the corresponding sectors. Forum was opened by the speech of Vice Prime-Minister Mr. Ali Hasanov. Addressing the participants of the forum Mr. Gayevskiy and Deputy Minister of Economic Development Mr. Safarov spoke about development of economic and business ties betwenn Azerbaijan and Stavropol, emphasizing the importance of cooperation of businessmen of both countries.

The official part continued with the demonstration of short movie on economic potential of Stavropol. Further, AZPROMO president Mr. Mammadov and Azerbaijan Investment Company deputy executive director Mr. Mammadov made presentations on economic situation in Azerbaijan, reasons to invest and ongoing investment projects. Forum was concluded by bilateral meetings in the following directions: agriculture – food and processing industry, industry – energy – construction, tourist services and education.
