RTS Announced Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. April 30, 2010. Over the week of April 19 - April 23, 2010, the RTS Index went down by 2.41% to reach 1,602.99 points (1,642.57 points as of April 16, 2010). Most of the negative impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the falling prices for ordinary shares of Sberbank (SBERS) (minus 8.44 points) followed by ordinary shares of Gazprom (GAZPS) (minus 8.34 points) and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (minus 5.35 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, lost 2.05% to reach 10,052.71 points (10,263.38 points as of April 16, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced a decrease of 1.75% closing at 1,946.73 points (1,981.32 points as of April 16, 2010). Last week all the key economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated a negative trend. The largest decline was reported by the financial sector, with the RTS Finances Index shedding 4.03%. A significant decrease was also shown by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index shrinking by 2.16%.

Last week the US dollar appreciated by 0.68% against the ruble to reach 29.13 rubles per US dollar (28.93 rubles as of April 16, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week April 19 – April 23, 2010 equaled USD13.17 billion (383.5 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD2,039.95 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD980.86 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD468.32 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD237.04 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 46.06%, 21.99% and 11.13% respectively.

The week's top gainers were preferred shares of Slavneft-Yaroslavnefteorgsintez (JNOSP) that went up by 42.86% to USD0.5 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "Slavneft-Megionneftegaz" (MFGS) – by 19.05% to USD25 and preferred shares of Ufaneftekhim (UFNCP) – by 13.85% to reach USD1.85.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of OJSC LSR Group (LSRG) that fell in price by 13.95% to reach USD37 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "TGC-2" (TGKB) that lost 12.20% to reach USD0.00036 and ordinary shares of JSC "IDGC Holding" (MRKH) that shed 10.56% to reach USD0.1525.
