IES Holding Will Hold Energetic Collaboration Contest
OREANDA-NEWS. April 29, 2010. IES announces the Energetic Collaboration Contest to be held in 16 regions of the company's presence for two years in a row. Its objective is to identify and encourage the most energy efficient heat and power consumers. IES-Holding, being one of the largest power and heat producers in Russia wants to make sure that the power it produces would be efficiently consumed, correctly metered and timely paid for.
The contest is supported by IES's partners that include regulatory bodies, scientific and social organizations. Their representatives are members of the contest committees. As compared to the previous year, the number of experts in the award panel grew more than twice to reach 149 people.
The Giprokommunenergo Energy-Efficient Technology Centre will provide expert support of the contest. Its specialists will take part in announcement of the results. The institution has existed for about 80 years, and within the recent years it has specialized in development of programs of improvement of communal energy efficiency and implementation of energy-efficient technologies.
The award panel will select the most energy-efficient companies according to 6 nominations in each of the 16 regions. They will be awarded The Energy Effect of the Year prize. Experts will also determine the most energy wasteful enterprise of the region, which will receive an anti-prize - The Energy Vampire of the Year.
In 2009 and 2010, the Holding worked out and started implementing a set of internal measures, which contribute to the efficiency of production and energy consumption. They include reduction of energy consumption during production through construction of new generating facilities, upgrading of the existing equipment, using advanced technologies, provision of meters, and implementation of programs of energy conservation in offices and at enterprises.
