New Treatment Methods from Belarus’ Well-Equipped Medical Centers
OREANDA-NEWS. April 28, 2010. Well-equipped medical centers should create new treatment methods, said Prime Minister of Belarus Sergei Sidorsky as he visited Medical Rehabilitation Hospital, a branch of the Mogilev oblast treatment and diagnostics center, in the Mogilev Region.
The head of government remarked that the research and education process in medical universities should rely on the latest equipment. Medical universities should cooperate with similar recreation and treatment centers, which utilize the latest technologies and equipment, as much as possible in order to use them to create new treatment and recreation methods and to improve existing ones.
“We cannot allow using expensive equipment ineffectively. Medicine specialists and future practitioners should promote information technologies, create new software and improve treatment methods,” stressed Sergei Sidorsky.
The idea to create a rehabilitation and recreation center primarily dedicated to Chernobyl victims emerged in 1989. With insufficient resources allocated, the project was put on standby. Thanks to interference of head of state Alexander Lukashenko it was decided to accelerate the revival of the project. The old project was virtually redone from scratch. The best specialists – engineers and medics — took part in developing the new concept. The efforts have resulted in a modern multifunctional rehabilitation and recreation center. Over Br48 billion was spent on building and equipping it over slightly more than four years. The center boasts expensive equipment while the latest technologies are used for medical rehabilitation and recreation.
