OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2010. In a survey conducted by Romir Holding of Russia’s largest banks, Sberbank, VTB and Alfa-Bank were ranked the top three in terms of reputation, reported the press-centre of Alfa-Bank.

The survey was carried out according to GRI (Global Reputation Index), a research methodology that takes into account a wide range of factors, including brand awareness, customer satisfaction, and the frequency and favorability of media coverage.

The winners were those with the best combined score in the two main GPI categories: visibility and confidence. These are the key factors that define a company’s image and competitive position.

Alfa-Bank is Russia’s only non-state-owned bank to be ranked in the top three. Its GRI score was 58, compared with 71 for Sberbank and 62 for VTB. In terms of favorable coverage in the media, however, Alfa-Bank came in first.

Alfa-Bank, along with Raiffeisenbank, took the lead in confidence, the second most important GRI indicator, based on how favorably the company is viewed by the public and in the media.

"The main goal of Alfa-Bank’s Public Relations Department is to keep our customers informed of what’s happening in the banking sector as a whole, where Alfa-Bank stands now and where we are going. We are glad that the bank’s dedication to honesty, openness and efficiency is reflected in the results of the survey," said Leonid Ignat, Director of Communications and PR at Alfa-Bank.
