OREANDA-NEWS. April 27, 2010. Metrowagonmash and Zeleznicе Srbije (Serbian Railways) have signed in the prescriptive of Russia Ambassador in Serbia Alexander Konuzin a two-year long delivery contract for ten DMUs, as per PR Department of Transmashholding, reported the press-centre of Transmashholding.

The plant will be delivering to Serbia two-car DMUs.

The tender results were announced by Zeleznicе Srbije end February. Apart from OAO Metrovagonmash, tender proposals were submitted by Spanish rolling stock manufacturer CAF, Croatian TZV Gredelj (Tvornica zeljeznickih vozila Gredelj, Zagreb) Slovak company ZOS Vrutky a.s.( Vrutki).

In order to select a winner, the tender committee considered quotation as well as manufacturers’ experience in DMU development and production.

During years of its activity, the company manufactured DMUs and rail buses operated successfully not only in Russia but also in Ukraine, Lithuania, Hungary and Czech Republic.

Since 2006 Metrovagonmash has delivered to its customers comprises 62 DMUs made of two- and three-cars.
