Bank of Moscow Supports Competition of Students’ Work
OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2010. With the support of the Asset Management Company of the Bank of Moscow, a competition of students’ work is held at the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation. At the Financial Academy under the Government of the Russian Federation, the final was held of the 1st competition of student works on problems of the operations of endowment funds of non-commercial organisations. The competition was organised with the support of theAsset Management Company of the Bank of Moscow (AMC of the Bank of Moscow).
The jury of the competition included representatives of the Academy and of the AMC of the Bank of Moscow, among them Valeriy Sumarokov, Vice Principal of the Financial Academy and Executive Director of the Endowment Management Fund of the Financial Academy; Elena Kasyanova, CEO of the AMC of the Bank of Moscow; Mikhail Kiselev, Counselor to the Principal of the Financial Academy; and Olga Subanova, Deputy Head of the Department “Systems analysis in the economy” of the Financial Academy.
The seven best participants were selected during the preliminary round. They had submitted works on aspects of taxation, risk management, improvement of the mechanisms for forming and using endowment capital, and development of a system for managing relations with donors. In the final part of the competition, students presented their works and answered questions asked by the jury and invited experts from the Endowment Club’s Donors’ Forum.
Three winners – Nadezhda Sherstyukova, Tatiana Paltseva and Evgenia Reimer – were chosen after the reviews and the in vivo round. In addition to prizes, the competition finalists received invitations to undergo internships at the AMC of the Bank of Moscow.
According to Valeriy Sumarokov, Executive Director of the Endowment Management Fund of the Financial Academy, the aim of the competition was to provide an opportunity for students of one of the country’s most prestigious higher educational institutions to realise their creative potential.
“Such kind of a competition was held for the first time and we are delighted with the opportunity to support the Financial Academy’s initiative”, noted Elena Kasyanova, CEO of the AMC of the Bank of Moscow. “We have invited the winners of the competition to be interns in our company and we hope that the young people’s scientific works will be implemented in practice.”
The next competition of student works is to be held in April 2011.
