According to the National Bank of Moldova, in March 2010 the volume of transactions of the cashless currency market of Moldova amounted to USD 466.57 million (USD 391.64 million in February 2010). The average daily volume of transactions increased from USD 18.65 in February up to USD 20.3 million in March 2010.

The share of transactions with dollar reached 61.81 % (USD 288.38 million). The share of transactions with euro amounted to 34.08%, with Russian ruble - 3.07%, with the Romanian leu- 0,2%, with the Ukrainian hryvna - 0,03%. As compared to February 2010, in March, the share of turnover with dollar fell by 3.95%. The share of turnover with euro increased by 3.43%, with Russian ruble - by 0,29%, with the Romanian leu -by 0.07%, with the Ukrainian hryvna - by 0,02%.

The average exchange rate of leu to dollar in purchase-sale transactions at the cashless currency market in March 2010 amounted to 12.5663 leis (12.8251 leis in February), to euro - 17.0503 leis (17.5330 leis in February), to the Russian ruble - 0.4248 leis (0.4258 leis in February), to the Romanian leu - 4.1866 leis (4.3180 leis in February) and to the Ukrainian hryvna - 1.5299 leis (1.5129 leis in February).
