OREANDA-NEWS. April 23, 2010. By the results of the 1st quarter of 2010, the Bank demonstrated a 12.2% liability increment in the private individual segment – versus the 3.9% increment for the banking system as a whole. The overall individual deposit portfolio of the Bank reached UAH 2.14 bn as of 01/04/2010, reported the press-centre of VAB Bank.

“While a year ago, at the end of the 1st quarter of 2009, we observed mass outflow of individual deposits at the rate of -11.2% for the system in general, based on today’s result shown by our Bank we may predict that rehabilitation of the banking market will be gaining momentum.  Deposits segment gradually regains its position becoming stronger month after month due to introduction of new flexible products (such as our Do It Yourself Deposit), as well as in view of their growth rate and expanding deposit terms.

In fact, it’s deposit placement durations that take the most fundamental effort in the market.  Hrivnia deposits are the ones we attract the most using incentives employed by the banks for regulation of attracted flows amid excessive current liquidity.  They are the resource of the highest interest for today’s banking system that entered this spring with renewed credit proposals,” Mr Tsvetan Petrining, deputy chairman and head of retail business and distribution of VAB Bank, commented.

The total individual credit portfolio of the Bank approached UAH 2,140 m at 01/04/2010.
