OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. In 2009 the share of crude oil in export made 81.57% with decline of 72.86%.

The State Customs Committee (SCC) informs that for Jan-Mar 2010 the country exported 6.85 million tons of crude for USD 3.815 bn versus 27.829 million tons for USD11.989 million in 2009.

This March crude oil export totaled 1.95 million tons for USD 1.075 bn versus 2.6 million tons for USD 1.475 bn in February and 2.265 million tons for USD 1.26 bn in January of the year.

For Jan-Mar 2010, as well as in 2009, the SOCAR Department of Marketing & Economic Operations of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) exported the whole volume of crude oil, while Azerbaijan International Operating Company (AIOC) did not carry out any export.

In December 2009 as well as in November, AIOC did not export oil versus export of 6.257 million tons in October and SOCAR exported 1.594 million tons against 1.307 million tons.

By 1st April 2010 it was carried 9.769 million tons (3.4 million tons in March) of oil via pipelines (data of controlling and measuring appliances) versus 41.29 million tons in 2009 and 278,184 tons (130,769 tons) of oil by rail versus 1.399 million tons.

“449,589 tons (versus 2.48 million tons in 2009) out of overall transportation for Jan-Mar 2010 were transported via Baku-Novorossiysk oil pipeline,  8.266 million tons (34.57 million tons) via Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan (BTC) pipe and 1.05 million tons (4.235 million tons) via Baku-Supsa pipe,” the Committee said.

This March transportation reached 159,861 tons via Baku-Novorossiysk, 2.896 million tons via BTC, 376,812 tons via Baku-Supsa, while this January the figures were 129,870 tons, 2.847 million tons and 372,361 tons and in February 159,858 tons, 2.5 million tons, and 303,679 tons respectively.

For 2008 average export price of Azeri oil made USD 565.67 per ton (including USD 373.89 per ton in December).

In December 2009, oil was exported at the average price of USD 547.66 per ton and for the entire past year at USD 430.83 per ton.

This March average export price was USD 550.35 per ton and for Jan-Mar 2010 USD 556.95 per ton.

Azerbaijan’s overall export for Jan-Mar 2010 totaled USD 4.509 bn.
