FAS Opens Its Twitter Microblog
OREANDA-NEWS. April 22, 2010. The Federal Antimonopoly Service (FAS Russia) has opened its own microblog to publish the latest FAS news in the real time mode. The format of each message does not exceed 140 symbols and enabled following-up all latest FAS messages, reported the press-centre of FAS Russia.
One does not need to have an account on twitter.com to read messages, though the main advantage of the service is that messages of selected authors are included in the same line, which can be viewed simultaneously from a user's account.
The blog platform is the most popular microblog service in Runet /Russian Internet/. Twitter was founded in 2006 and already by 2008 had more than a million users. According to Yandex, the Russian-language audience has currently reached around 120,000 - 130,000 people.
"Today the Internet can provide simple and easy access to information and make communication more efficient. We would like FAS Russia's activities to be clear and transparent, so we intend to increase our presence in the Internet", stated Stats-Secretary Andrey Tsarikovskiy, the Head of FAS Russia commenting the FAS Russia's microblog. "Therefore we decided to open our own microblog with the aim to promptly inform about the most important events and doings of FAS Russia in a concise manner. In the future we, perhaps, will use other forms of working in the web", said Mr. Tsarikovskiy.
