OREANDA-NEWS. April 21, 2010. National Company KazMunayGas took part in the “Online Corporate Communications. Using Internet Resources for Corporate Communications” round table on 13 April of this year. The event was held by Shell’s representative office in Kazakhstan and CU "Samruk-Kazyna”.

Spokesman of JSC NC "KazMunayGas" Galym Tumabayev presented the new corporate web-site (www.kmg.kz) that had been launched in the test mode in March, 2010, to the participants. During the process of its creation such factors were taken into account as user-friendliness (information structuring, use of information feed technology, user scenarios), informative capacity and openness. The new site represents KMG NC’s long-term development strategy in the 5 key business areas (upstream, oil transportation, transportation and marketing of gas, oil refining and petrochemistry, implementation of service projects and development of the Kazakhstan content).

— We have set our goal to transform KMG’s web-site from the corporate format into an information portal. The Internet community is the top-priority audience in the company’s information work, - Galym Tumabayev noted. – Users will find on the site not only the most recent messages of the company, but the news of the oil and gas market, analytical reviews, as well as photo and video materials.

The efforts being made to improve the corporate web-site are aimed to improve the openness and transparency of KMG’s activities in accordance with international principles and standards. Thus, when creating the new version of the site, recommendations and proposals of international rating agencies were taken into consideration. In particular, for the first time the company’s internal documents have been posted on the site, such as the code of conduct, risk management policy, statutes on the committees under the Board of Directors, dividend policy, calendar of corporate events, and detailed information on the company's Board of Directors and Management Board members.

— In creating the site, the state-of-the-art technology and design solutions of international level were used, - Marat Izhanov, head of the “Izhanov & Partners” – developer of KMG’s web-site—noted. — Following the results of the first months of operation, the traffic of KMG NC’s site has grown twofold. An average of 1,100 visits per day has been recorded on weekdays, a user spends 8 minutes and opens 6.5 pages on the site. This is a good result for a new Kazakh corporate web-site, - he added.

The near-term plans of the company and developer include completion of the site's test mode operation, including creation of the Kazakh and English versions, and work with popular social media, such as Twitter and Facebook.
