COMSTAR – United TeleSystems (COMSTAR-UTS, LSE: CMST), the leading operator of integrated telecom services in Russia and the CIS, announces that Privolzhye Branch of CJSC COMSTAR-Regions (100% subsidiary company of OJSC COMSTAR-UTS) has connected the 40 thousandth subscriber of Cable-TV service (CTV) in the city of Izhevsk.
During the year 2009 number of Comstar CTV subscribers increased by 10% in Izhevsk. Such growth was facilitated by marketing activities of the operator, by flexible tariff policy and professional work of technical division, which ensures high quality of the provided services. Operator continued development of the service content. In the beginning of the year 2010, the broadcasted package of CTV channels of Privolzhye Branch (COMSTAR-Regions) in Izhevsk was extended from 60 to 63 channels. In advance of the Winter Olympic games the company started broadcasting of such high-rating sport channels as "Eurosport", "Eurosport 2", "NTVSport plus". Recently large movie package was supplemented with popular TV-channel - Universal. In addition, the viewing grid was added with new thematic channels – "TVnurse", "Pets", "Live", "Psychology 21" and etc.
Moreover, such operator’s bundled package as TV+Internet is also in demand by subscribers. More than 17 thousands families of Izhevsk are already subscribers of broadband Internet access services provided by COMSTAR (trade mark STREAM).
