OREANDA-NEWS. April 16, 2010. OJSC Varieganneftegaz (a member of the TNK-BP structure) operating the Verkhnekolik-Yegan field completed the drilling of 10 wells with the oil rate of 35 tons per day each, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

The presence of residual reserves in the Jurassic (YuV8-9-10) had been confirmed by previous geological and hydrodynamic simulation and successful completion of wild cats.

Overall, drilling operations will continue at the Verkhnekolik-Yegan field according to a previously established schedule of geological and technical processes. The higher number of operational production wells will enable OJSC Varieganneftegaz to reach greater oil production levels and complete the 2010 performance contract.

The Verkhnekolik-Yegan field has been developed since 1990. Greater development prospects are likely to be offered by more intensive drilling, proactive geological and technical processes and transitioning to previously untapped reservoirs. The total volume of oil produced since the operations began at this field was recorded at 29.15 million tons as of 1.01.2010.
