OREANDA-NEWS. April 15, 2010. Moscow Domodedovo Airport hosted traditional spotting – an event attracting avia photography fans who are also called plane spotters.

The event was attended by more than 100 amateur photographers. They were granted a precious chance to shoot planes of Domodedovo partner airlines during their take off, landing and taxing directly from the airfield.

As part of this particular spotting a photo contest was organized by Brussels Airlines. The winners will be nominated in the following categories:

the best photo of take off/landing of Brussels Airlines aircraft;

the best photo of Brussels Airlines ground handling procedure;

the best photo of Brussels Airlines crew (in the framework of a project “Airline with a Human Face”)

The number of plane spotters is constantly growing while Moscow Domodedovo Airport is an attractive site for spotters as it offers a wider choice of Russian and foreign partner airlines for shooting. It is a unique opportunity to have open and formal photo hunting.

The first official spotting in Russia was arranged by Moscow Domodedovo Airport on May 22 2007.
