RTS Released Stock Market Weekly Trading Results

OREANDA-NEWS. April 14, 2010. Over the week of April 5 – April 9, 2010, the RTS Index went up by 1.08% to reach 1,631.81 points (1,614.45 points as of April 2, 2010). Most of the positive impact on the RTS Index dynamics was related to the growing prices for ordinary shares of OJSC "OC "Rosneft" (ROSNS) (plus 10.03 points), ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOHS) (plus 5.21 points) and ordinary shares of OJSC Uralkali (plus 2.66 points).

The RTS Standard Index, the blue chips index, gained 1.26% to reach 10,284.85 points (10,157.00 points as of April 2, 2010). The "second-tier" stock index – RTS-2 experienced an increase of 1.60% closing at 1,932.21 points (1,901.79 points as of April 2, 2010). Last week most of the economy sectors represented on the Russian stock market demonstrated an upping trend. The largest growth was reported by the industrial sector, with the RTS Industrial Index adding 5.68%. A significant increase was also shown by the oil & gas sector, with the RTS Oil & Gas Index gaining 2.16%. A decline was shown by the telecom sector, with the RTS Telecom Index decreasing by 1.94%.

Last week the US dollar depreciated by 0.13% against the ruble to reach 29.40 rubles per US dollar (29.44 rubles as of April 2, 2010).

The total securities trading volume on RTS for the week of April 5 – April 9, 2010 equaled USD12.09 billion (353.8 billion rubles*), including all types of trades. The trading volume on RTS Standard totaled USD1,819.78 million.

The week's top sellers were Sberbank ordinary shares (SBER) with a turnover of USD922.52 million followed by Gazprom ordinary shares (GAZP) with a turnover of USD348.82 million and ordinary shares of ОАО "LUKOIL" (LKOH) with a turnover of USD193.37 million. The share of each security in the total trading volume made up 49.15%, 18.59% and 10.30% respectively.

The week's top gainers were ordinary shares of PJSC "Krasny Kotelshchik" (KRKO) that went up by 51.52% to USD1 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "Salavatnefteorgsintez" (SNOZ) – by 38.89% to USD100 and ordinary shares of JSC "TGC-2" (TGKB) – by 25.71% to reach USD0.00044.

The week's top losers were ordinary shares of Bashkirenergo (BEGY) that fell 10.26% to reach USD1.75 followed by ordinary shares of JSC "IDGC Holding" (MRKH) that lost 7.31% to reach USD0.1622 and ordinary shares of O.J.S.C. "Uralsvyazinform" (URSI) that shed 7.02% to reach USD0.03774.
