OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2010. TNK-BP announced that the oil output at Russkoye field in Yamal-Nenets Autonomous District exceeded 25,000 tons in the first quarter of 2010, double the figure as compared to the first quarter of 2009. The crude oil is shipped from this field by ice road until spring, reported the press-centre of TNK-BP.

Investment in the Russkoye field during the first quarter of 2010 amounted to 400 million rubles, most of which was spent on new infrastructure and production drilling. During 2010 the company plans to drill a total of 10 wells at the field, to add 2 MW of capacity in the diesel-fired power station, and to construct a number of facilities, including an artesian water supply site, a gas treatment unit, an equipment storage facility and a helicopter pad.

“We’re investing around 200 million dollars in the Russkoye development during 2010. The development of this field needs large investments. TNK-BP has started to build a 47 km road to the Zapolyarnoe field this year, so that by the end of 2011 all the oil it will produce under the pilot production scheme can be transported. We hope that the government will approve shortly the integrated development program for fields in the Yamal-Nenets District and northern Krasnoyarsk Region, which would resolve the issue of building long-distance pipeline infrastructure in the region and enable us to speed up the development of our fields”, stated Sergey Brezitsky, Executive Vice President, Upstream, TNK-BP.
