OREANDA-NEWS. April 13, 2010. An Azerbaijani government source says that the Bank was suggested to discuss the primary version of the Country Strategy with governmental agencies to raise the level of awareness of demands and conditions of financing.

“The Bank was also recommended to withdraw such preliminary conditions as restructuring and changes of tariffs in the area of potential crediting when coordinating projects. Otherwise the EBRD will have no prospects of work in state sector of Azerbaijan and private sector’s possibility to raise EBRD financing is much less,” the source said.

Recently discussion on the Daft Strategy with the government has been conducted by EBRD president Thomas Mirow who paid a brief visit to Baku.
