April 12, 2010. 500 enterprises have been examined in 2009 by the experts of the Engineering Center of the head office and by regional risk managers of Ingosstrakh OJSIC which is 34% more than in 2008. The items include those accepted for insurance and reinsurance, by subsidiaries of Ingosstrakh OJSIC as well, and for provision of methodological assistance in complex losses adjustment. Engineering Center experts carried out insurance risk audits of different types of property, among which were metallurgical, auto assembly and petrochemical plants, air terminal and logistic complexes, office and business centers, shopping malls, new construction and installation projects, including shopping malls, hotels, cargo ports, passenger terminal, gas processing plant in the Middle East etc.

During the risk audits the experts of Ingosstrakh Engineering Center identify and assess risks, work out special clauses and recommendations on aversion and minimization of hazardous events to help the insured and underwriters. Under the relevant agreements with Ingosstrakh customers, the Engineering Center arranges and performs, on regular basis, monitoring of the insured items in order to ensure timely response to changes in the insured risks’ level and provide a methodological assistance to the insured customers of Ingosstrakh OJSIC in following recommendations concerning risks’ aversion and minimization. Specialists of the Engineering Center take part in all complex losses adjustments, visiting the scenes and consulting on specific questions requiring special knowledge of the company’s employees and external surveyors attracted to loss adjustment.

Commenting on the year results, Sergey Zadorozhko, Director of the Ingosstrakh OJSIC Engineering Center noted: “Engineering Center of Ingosstrakh OJSIC has been improving its performance with the aim of becoming a leader among similar subdivisions existing in insurance, reinsurance companies and broker’s offices. Foreign reinsurance companies find reports of Ingosstrakh OJSIC Engineering Center adequate for quality underwriting performance. Methods of engineering assessment of the insurance risks related to the items of different purpose that have been developed and successfully implemented by our specialists play a significant role in these achievements.”

Engineering Center of Ingosstrakh OJSIC was established as an autonomous department in 2005 to perform engineering inspections of property to be accepted for insurance and reinsurance by subsidiaries of Ingosstrakh OJSIC located within the Russian Federation, CIS and far-abroad countries and for provision of methodological assistance in loss adjustment.

Positions of risk managers were introduced in regional centers of Ingosstrakh OJSIC in 2007. These managers assigned to the Engineering Center were qualified for performing engineering risk audits after relevant training and certification.
