Afisha Launches New Version of Its Website
OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2010. The new version of the Afisha website includes a few changes and innovations. The website visitors can now place their reviews and impressions in the Comments section at Afisha.ru and at the same time in the social networks with which they are registered.
Registered Afisha users can invite their friends to the events.
In the updated version of the website, the Clubs section was renamed into The Nightlife. The ticket reservation system has been made less complicated, too. In order to book a ticket for a show, the users will not have to register with Afisha.ru website, since the reservation can be made using the email address.
The website now features four types of recommendations: Majority Choice, which includes the most popular events, Afisha Choice, the events recommended by the magazine columnists, Choice of the User’s Friends, as well as events previously marked by the users, which they didn’t have a chance to see yet.
The banners are placed differently within the new version of the website. According to Afisha.ru administration, this will help to increase the effectiveness of ads run on the website. In addition to that, the press release says that they have taken necessary precautions against spammers. “Hundreds of virtual users are being registered who give thousands of high grades to their own establishments and events and downgrade their competitors”, runs the press release. An additional defense system has been introduced to fight this spam. Now, before a user can place the grade or write a review, he or she will need to confirm their email address and provide a response to an email request.
