OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2010. The Government is currently seeking new ways to create and implement innovative technologies in various fields.

Medical institutions have already received modern X-ray, laboratory and ultrasound equipment, and new vehicles. But there is a real need to develop and implement medical innovations. For many years, the main business platform for the presentation of new medical technologies has been KIHE, the Kazakhstan International Healthcare Exhibition, which is held annually in Almaty and organised by Iteca. This year the exhibition will be held on 12-14 May in the eleventh pavilion of Atakent Exhibition Centre.

The exhibitors include domestic companies (40% of the total number of exhibitors) and companies from Germany (19%), Russia (16%), China (7%) and Turkey (4.5%). The national stand of Germany will feature several manufacturers of medical equipment. Domestic firms, will present medicines, disinfectants, new dental products and much more.

At the exhibition this year, a new, domestically produced product will be unveiled: acid and basic solutions used in hemodialysis for patients suffering from chronic kidney failure. “Packaged, ready-made solutions, the new generation of consumables for artificial kidney machines, have come to replace the dry salt used in Kazakhstan for the past 10-15 years. The emergence of locally produced hemodialysis solutions is a big step for Kazakhstan’s pharmaceutical industry,” says Miras Kozhakeev, CEO of Berunifarm.

Medicus Eurasia, one of the largest suppliers of medical equipment and technology in Kazakhstan, will present several new products in various fields of medical technology. “The first thing we would like to draw your attention to is the three latest ultrasound systems by GE Healthcare - LOGIQ E9, Voluson E8 and Vivid S6. Another new product is the Duolith SD1 made by the Swiss company Storz Medical. It is the world’s first therapeutic device using Extracorporeal Shock Wave Therapy,” says Kairat Seysenov, director of Medicus Eurasia. - This is not the first time we have taken part in the KIHE exhibition. The content of our participation changes constantly, as do health problems. We are currently focusing on cardiology and cardiac surgery. Our company has been actively involved in equipping health facilities with cardio surgical equipment through the State Programme for Cardiology and Cardiac Care. To date, we have delivered 14 turnkey cardiac centres throughout the country. As part of a programme for early detection of breast cancer in women of childbearing age, our X-ray mammography units have been supplied to 94 regional clinics. In addition to direct delivery and monitoring of installed equipment, our own technical service provides after-sales service, warranty and post-guarantee repair. Medicus Eurasia also gives training to doctors in special open learning centres at institutes.

KIHE 2010 will present more than 150 companies from 19 countries - Belarus, Germany, Jordan, Kazakhstan, China, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Poland, Russia, Singapore, USA, Turkey, Ukraine, Finland, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Japan. Among the newcomers are Latvia, Netherlands and Poland. The total exhibition area will be 5500m?.

In Kazakhstan, medical clusters are being developed and implemented, and dispensaries, clinics and hospitals created – all with the latest equipment for diagnosing and treating cancer patients and other seriously ill patients. The development of the healthcare system is receiving a lot of attention from the Government. But progress does not stand still, so the opportunity provided by the KIHE exhibition to share experiences is of key importance. The exhibition will also attract companies from Russia and the CIS. The head of the Almaty office of the Trade Representation of Russia in Kazakhstan, Vadim Verzhbitsky, said that Russian businesses intend to establish a production base in Kazakhstan and continue to work actively in Central Asian markets. In his welcome letter, Mr. Verzhbitsky says: “KIHE 2010 contributes to the promotion of new medical technologies. The event is an excellent platform for sharing best practices and advanced medical knowledge. During the exhibition, companies from Russia will take advantage of this opportunity to strengthen valuable business contacts in Kazakhstan, find new partners and create serious reserves for the future.”

Thousands of healthcare professionals from Kazakhstan and other countries will gather in Almaty for the KIHE exhibition. In addition, other events will be held alongside the exhibition, including: the General Assembly of Doctors and Pharmacists of Kazakhstan on Law and Health, organised by the National Medical Assocaiton; and the Contacts Exchange of the German Industry Association of Optical, Medical and Mechatronical Technologies (SPECTARIS). The Contacts Exchange will be located at the exhibition. Presentations of new equipment and programmes will be held in the seminar room at the exhibition. The seminar by Lasers Medica - “Current problems of modern laser cosmetology and plastic surgery” – promises to be of interest to visitors and exhibitors.

KIHE is organised by the Kazakhstani exhibition company Iteca, together with international partners from the UK, Germany and Turkey.
