ROSNO Pays over 3,7 mln Roubles for Crop Shortage
OREANDA-NEWS. April 12, 2010. ROSNO’s Volgograd branch has reimbursed S.I. Dumbrov farm (the Svetloyarsk district) for the damage inflicted by partial loss of winter wheat crops. The aggregate insurance compensation equalled 3,765,373 roubles, reported the press-centre of ROSNO.
The winter wheat crops (total sown area of 1,500 ha) were insured by S.I. Dumbrov farm for the period from 10 October 2008 to 31 December 2009. The insurance contract contemplated partial compensation of the cost of insurance policy out of the federal budget.
The crops had been insured against complete loss (destruction) or partial loss (shortage) as a result of natural phenomena negatively affecting agricultural production (drought, freeze, winterkill, asphyxiation, hail damage, dust storms and sand storms, earthquake, avalanche, mud flow, snowmelt flood, and soil overwetting).
In the first decade of January 2009, some overwintering plants (in the area of 200 ha) perished as a result of the temperature decrease, when low average daily surface temperatures in combination with uneven snow cover were recorded. ROSNO paid the farm 673 thousand roubles for reseeding in this area.
Also, as a result of hazardous phenomena (soil and atmospheric drought) during the plant growth and vegetation period, the farm has been unable to gather the expected crops. The damage from crop shortage has been compensated by ROSNO in the amount of 3,092,373 roubles.
