OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2010. The head of administration of Kingisepp municipal area of Leningrad region V.E. Geshle approved the results of the public hearings which took place on March, 19th, 2010 in the settlement of Vistino (Leningrad region). The environmental impact of planned economic activities of realization of the project "Formation of Water Area of Southern and Northern Parts of the Sea Trading Port of Ust-Luga, Including Operational Water Area of the Container Terminal of Leningrad Region. Reconstruction (2nd Stage) of Navigation Safety System of on External Sea Approaches to the Sea Trading Port of Ust-Luga" became a theme of discussions. The administration of Kingisepp municipal area was the organizer of the public hearings.

With a view of environmental impact decrease during the realization of the given project the complex of nature protection measures is planned. In particular, before the beginning of the construction contracts on carrying out of monitoring and the industrial ecological control, and also contracts on gathering, transportation and placing of a waste formed during the construction with the organizations having proper licenses and the permissions will be concluded.

According to the environmental legislation requirements payments for environmental impact will be made during the construction works. Expenses on ecological support of the construction will be provided also.

Compliance of design documentation with ecological requirements will be checked during the state ecological examination.

Realization of the specified project will allow unloading of Luga waterway, directing vessels with draught below 11 meters through Luga western waterway raising navigation safety.
