OREANDA-NEWS. April 09, 2010. National Statistics Bureau, in January-March 2010, foodstuff’s prices in the country increased by 7%, and prices of the non-food products - by 3,7%. Prices for services rendered to population, increased by 6%. Food prices in March 2010 increased by 0,9%, for the non-food goods - by 0,9%.

Fees for services rendered to the population, grew by 0,1%. The largest price increase was registered in March 2010 for fresh fruit - by 7.2% (including exotic fruits - 13,9%, apples - 4,6%), fresh vegetables - 2,5% (including onions - 6,8%, cabbage - by 4,3%), as well as sunflower oil - by 3,3%, sugar by 2.8%, beer - 2,1%, fish and fish products - by 1,7%. At the same time, the prices of diet eggs have decreased by 1,2%, milk and dairy products - by 0,4%, including sour cream - by 1,4%, sheep's cheese - by 2,1%.

Meat and meat products became cheaper by 0.2%, including beef-1,3%, pork - by 0,6%, mutton - by 1,1%. The prices have also declined for medicines - 3%, oil - 1,8%, including liquid petroleum gas cylinders and fuel - by 1.9%, detergents - 1, 6%, tobacco products - by 1,4%. Among the services provided to population, the greatest growth in March 2010 was registered to cinema tickets - 2,7% and medical services - 1%. As it was informed before, in 2010 the Moldovan government expects the inflation rate of about 5%.
