OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2010. Within legally set period MP Rinat Akhmetov submitted his Declaration of profit, financial obligations and property standing of a state employee for 2009.

According to the declaration (Section II "Profits earned in Ukraine and abroad") in 2009 the total sum of comprehensive profit of MP Rinat Akhmetov made UAH 4,524,267.49, namely:

 interests on deposits  UAH 2,420,332.01;

gifts UAH 1,888,435.47;

MP salary UAH 215,500.01.

MP salary for 2009 just like for all previous years was spent on charity.

In section III "Financial obligations, including foreign obligations for 2009" the list of payment obligations features the following sums:

 - payments on lease agreements - UAH 18,000,000 (lease of house with property in Donetsk)

- payments to maintain real estate specified in Sections IV,V - UAH 303,192.52 (utility payments, maintenance of technical systems).

According to Section IV "Privately owned real estate",

 R.L. Akhmetov owns two apartments (in Kiev) with a total area of 1,242.1 square metres and a garage of

60.8 square metres.

The sum of money on accounts in banks and other financial and credit institutions (Section VI "Information about bank deposits, securities and other assets") makes UAH 13,179,079.32 (as of 01.01.2010). Notional value of purchased securities - UAH 300,000.

The members of R.L. Akhmetov's family (Section 1. General information) are:

Liliya N. Akhmetova - wife

Nyakiya N. Akhmetova - mother

Damir R. Akhmetov - son

Almir R. Akhmetov - son

According to the declaration (Section II "Profits earned in Ukraine and abroad") in 2009 the total sum of comprehensive profit of R.L. Akhmetov's family members made UAH 1,453,490.04 (interests on current accounts).

In section III "Financial obligations, including foreign obligations for 2009" the list of payments obligations features the following sums paid by the family members: payments to maintain real estate specified in Sections IV,V – UAH 57,287.62 (utility payments).

Family members are the owners of (Section IV, V) residential real estate with a total area of 435 square metres and two cars: Daimler (Mercedes) 240 and Honda CR-V.

Members of R.L. Akhmetov's family have the following sum of money on accounts in banks and other financial and credit institutions (Section VI "Information about bank deposits, securities and other assets") - UAH 7,972,491.91 (as of 01.01.2010).

Yelena Dovzhenko, Press Secretary of R.L. Akhmetov, comments:

The total amount of profit of Mr Akhmetov over the reporting 2009, as well as for previous years, largely depends on profit distribution policy of SCM, of which he is the controlling shareholder.

In 2009 R.L. Akhmetov decided not to receive dividends but to spend all profit earned by SCM in 2008 (UAH 184.5m) on the development of business.

I'd like to stress that the cost of business and its capitalization, which are rather subjectively appraised by different ratings methods, have nothing to do with the amount of profit earned by the shareholders as physical entity.
