Freight One Begins to Haul Asbestos to Southeast Asia
OREANDA-NEWS. April 08, 2010. Freight One’s Chelyabinsk branch has begun to haul asbestos produced by Orenburg Minerals (OM) for export. The first shipment of about 5,000 metric tons was sent to consignees in Indonesia and Thailand.
From the South Ural railway, OM’s products will be delivered in Freight One cars to the Port of Novorossiysk, from where it will be exported to Southeast Asia.
"OM plans to increase haulage in Freight One cars by a factor of 4.5. In addition to export traffic, OM products are hauled in Freight One cars to major metallurgical and construction materials companies along the Moscow, Southeastern, Volga, Kuibyshev and Krasnoyarsk railways including Krasny Stroitel OJSC, Ulyanovskshifer LLC and Belgorodasbestotsement OJSC" said Chelyabinsk Branch Director Vladislav Yegorov. "Since we began doing business with them in May 2009, over 83,000 tons of asbestos have been delivered for these companies".
